Arvid Lindblad will join the Formula One grid with Racing Bulls for the 2026 season.

Racing Bulls has just confirmed what GPblog already wrote: Lindblad will join the Racing Bulls team in 2026, alongside Liam Lawson. The 18-year old Brit will join the Faenza-based squad, replacing Isack Hadjar.

The Brit becomes the next driver to be promoted to F1 through the Red Bull Academy, an academy which has seen the likes of Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel come through the ranks to become world champions with the main Red Bull squad.

Lindblad became a Red Bull-supported driver in 2021, whilst he was still karting, and has since progressed through several motorsport classes to get to F1. In 2025, Lindblad joined the Formula 2 grid, and the Brit also became the youngest race winner in F2 history, taking victory in the Jeddah sprint race earlier this year at just 17 years old.

Now, the 18-year old will be promoted to Racing Bulls, making the jump into F1. Lindblad will be among the youngest drivers on the grid next season, like Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman.

The Brit has also driven the RB21 earlier this year at the Mexican Grand Prix during FP1, as part of the FIA's rookie rules - where each team must place a rookie in each of their cars on two occasions in FP1 throughout the season. Lindblad finished the session in sixth place and went faster than Yuki Tsunoda in the sister Red Bull.

Lindblad will also replace Tsunoda during FP1 at Abu Dhabi, as part of the rookie rules which each team must adhere to.
