Max Verstappen commented on his fourth-place finish in the Qatar Sprint as he lost ground to lando norris in the title race.
"We need to try and get rid of the bouncing, jumping, understeer in general in the long corners, that's still a big problem"- Max Verstappen
Speaking to the media after the race, the Dutchman admitted he wasn’t having an easy weekend: "It's been difficult so far. he start was of course good and the first three laps I pushed a bit more compared to the guys ahead to try and have an opportunity knowing that passing was tough but after that you just get into the same trouble and the more the tyres wear the more you feel those kind of issues."
The four-time world champion made a brief early-race attempt to challenge Norris, but ultimately had to fall in line and settle for fourth place. Verstappen also admitted that there’s still work to be done to fix the bouncing issue, which persisted after yesterday’s session.
"That basically also prevented us from following them, I was basically just doing my own race out there. We need to work on that. We need to try and get rid of the bouncing, jumping, understeer in general in the long corners, that's still a big problem."

The Brit lost two points to his teammate but gained one on the Dutchman, fending off a brief early-race attack and then managing the gap all the way to the finish.
Off the track, there was also a 'battle' between the two off the track, with the Englishman reiterating his post-race comments that he hadn’t seen Verstappen behind him, while also responding to the Dutchman’s claim that he would have won the championship well ahead of time if the roles were reversed.
