Lewis Hamilton saw his Qatar Grand Prix weekend woes continue, suffering a first-round elimination in qualifying.

The seven-time world champion, who also faced a first-round exit during the Sprint qualifying and failed to score points in the Sprint race, witnessed his struggles mount with another early elimination.

Hamilton set a time quick enough for 18th place, over eight-tenths off the fastest time in Q1, set by George Russell. He was joined by Red Bull Racing’s Yuki Tsunoda, who was eliminated in the final moments of the Q1 session by Gabriel Bortoleto.
