Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has crashed on the reconnaissance lap. The SF-25's suffered a broken front right suspension. It is not yet known if he will be able to take part in the race. It's not started the way Leclerc would have hoped for. Rain started hitting the track since the mid-morning hours. By the time drivers were making the reconnaissance laps to the grid, the circuit was still very damp.
On the long straight that leads into Turn 11, Leclerc was coming in at high speed, when he lost the ability to turn the car - probably due to an aquaplanning effect - and went stright on into the wall heavily damaging his right front suspension.
