Conditions ahead of the F1 Sprint in Miami were too deteriorated to start the 19-lap race. Following Charles Leclerc's crash, Max Verstappen also had a moment during the formation lap. However, he was not the only driver to struggle in the wet conditions at the Miami street circuit with leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli even complaining about not being able to see anything behind the safety car.
'Worst conditions in a race car ever'
Piastri, ahead of the race start, complained about ‘terrible’ visibility and reported ‘a river’ in Turn 10.
The complexity of the conditions were evidenced by Max Verstappen going straight on in Turn 17. Although the Dutchman was able to retake his position, due to the severity of the conditions, which Piastri labeled as 'the worst he's ever had in a race car', Race direction decided to abort the start procedure.
