FP1 for the F1 Hungarian Grand Prix was led by Lando Norris ahead of Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc.
After the first 15 minutes, unsurprisingly it was two McLarens taking the top two places in the timing sheets with Lando Norris leading Oscar Piastri. Charles Leclerc positioned himself behind the McLarens and ahead of Max Verstappen, who found himself nearly six tenths adrift off the lead.George Russell placed P7 with Lewis Hamilton and Yuki Tsunoda in P9 and P10. Andrea Kimi Antonelli meanwhile could be found in P15.
As the track gripped up, Leclerc jumped to the top. However, his efforts would be thrown out the window with a blistering lap posted by Lando Norris, which edged him half a second ahead of the Monegasque.
Williams then soared to the top 3 with Carlos Sainz, as Piastri took a discreet P4 ahead of Alexander Albon in P5. Franco Colapinto took P6 on his first soft tyre run ahead of Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar in P7 and P8, with Verstappen and Antonelli completing the top 10.
As the drivers donned the soft tyres on, it was clear McLaren had the edge on the rest of the teams with Norris again placing above Piastri by 0.142s, which would come down to 0.019s in the Australian’s second effort.
Close behind followed Leclerc at 0.217s and Hamilton nearly 7 tenths adrift off Norris. Hadjar rounded off the top 5, with a quick Bearman in P6. Antonelli, Russell, Verstappen and Stroll completed the top 10.
