Is Lily Verstappen older than we thought? Max and Marko both hint at it!

The newborn daughter of Verstappen and Piquet is the talk of the weekend at the Miami International Autodrome paddock. Initially, it was assumed that Lily was born on Thursday, May 1 – on the media day in Miami – but both Verstappen and Marko imply that the girl may have already been born on one of the finals days of April.

"Max is now pretty soon 28 years old, so he's in the right age," Marko said when he was asked by GPblog for a reaction to the happy news. "Everything went well and the whole Verstappen family and all his friends are happy that it is a beautiful young lady."

When asked whether Lily might become the first female Formula 1 world champion, Marko jokes: "I mean if you look at the genes, she must be fantastic. But first of all you have to see what she wants. Maybe she wants to become a model or become a lawyer or whatsoever. I mean she's a couple of days old, so it's very early days."

Christian Horner also reacted to the news about Verstappen and Piquet. In response to a question from GPblog, the Red Bull team principal answered with a wink : "I'm just thinking of the genes of that child. It's quite incredible when you think of Verstappen and Piquet. If it was a racehorse, it would be worth a fortune. But it's going to make life a little different for him."

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff also responded to the question. "Obviously we are all different. For me, a child is born with DNA and I believe in nature, not so much nurture. But he’s been – from what I can see – great with his stepdaughter, and I have no doubt he will be a fantastic father."
