The F1 circus has touched down on Miami soil and though temperatures are expected to run high across the weekend, there's still a chance that the teams may have to do some rain running for Sunday's race. For Friday, which will see run the first an only practice session followed by the Sprint Qualifying. Track temperature is expected to be particularly hot with it ranging from a low 42 °C, to a high 50 °C for FP1 only to drop off considerably for the Sprint Shootout from high 48 °C to low 39 °C,
something which could give McLaren's competitors a fighting chance.Air temp is to remain consistent across the sessions with at 28 °C. As for the rain it is set to reach a high of 20% in the afternoon, but no precipitacion is expected to hit the track on Friday, although humidity levels are set to be somewhat significant reaching 55% for both sessions.
Gentle winds are expected with its speed ranging from 5-15 KPH throughout the day in a West to North West direction.
For Saturday the wind, the humidity and the rain forecast are set to mimick the conditions for Friday, with the track temperatures expected to be within the same range as well for the Sprint race and Qualifying for the race ranging between the low 45 °C and the high 51 °C.
Air temp is expected to be awfully similar to Friday's as well with a low of 28 °C and a high of 29 °C.
Chance of thunderstorm for Sunday
However, for the Grand Prix itself air temp is expected to be 1-2 degrees cooler, between 28 °C and 27 °C, with track temperature set to be at 51 °C at the start of the race before it drops significantly to around 38 °C. Humidity is expected to be at the highest across the weekend starting at 60% and climbing to 65%. The wind however is expected to replicate its pattern for the previous two days.
During the race, which is set to take place between 16:00 and 18:00 local time, there are chances of thunderstorms at 40% currently. Teams will therefore keep an eye on the weather systems throughout the weekend to react should rain chances increase.
