While Red Bull Racing could celebrate their first victory in F1 in months, the success of the team’s title sponsor also continued into this week as well.
On the current Formula 1 grid, nine teams have a title sponsor. The only one missing, McLaren, also announced a deal with MasterCard from the 2026 season onwards, ahead of the Dutch GP.
Red Bull Racing's title sponsor is Oracle, a multinational technology company from the United States.
The company became the team's title sponsor in the 2022 season, and has held that position ever since.
Oracle's co-founder, chief technology officer and executive chairman Larry Ellison became the world's richest man according to Bloomberg's billionaire index as of today.
This comes after Oracle Corporation's quarterly results "surpassed expectations and said there's more growth to come."
Ellison's wealth is now $393 billion after a $101 billion rise, overtaking Elon Musk, who is $8 billion behind. This breaks Musk's nearly year-long streak at the top.
Bloomberg also reported this is the biggest one-day increase in the history of its index.
The Dutchman returned to winning ways in Monza last Sunday.
Starting from pole position, the four-time world champion was advised by Gianpiero Lambiase to hand Lando Norris the position back after cutting the first chicane, but once he re-overtook the McLaren driver, he did not look back.
With this victory, Verstappen also completed the Italian double, as he won the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix earlier this season.
Since Imola, he had stood on the podium twice, but a victory did not materialize.
After the race, talking to GPblog, sporting director Pierre Waché explained he was first skeptical about a decisive set-up change suggested by the Dutchman.
“I was not very keen on it, at first, that is true,” the Frenchman laughed, before making his way to continue the celebrations with his team at the Italian circuit.
