Ferrari handed brutal verdict
Ralf Schumacher has not held back his thoughts in his latest assessment of the Scuderia Ferrari outfit. The former F1 driver criticised the team for spending the most money on what he described as “the biggest disaster.”
Schumacher’s comments come following another forgettable outing from the Maranello-based outfit during the Singapore Grand Prix. Ferrari, with both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton at the wheel, could only muster a sixth- and eighth-place finish, respectively.
The outing in Singapore largely mirrors the team’s overall struggles throughout the 2025 campaign. Ferrari have failed to replicate the heights they reached in the 2024 season. The team, led by Fred Vasseur, are currently struggling to hang on to third place in the Constructors’ Championship and only lead fourth-placed Red Bull Racing by eight points.
Montoya drops big Russell claim
Juan Pablo Montoya has stated that George Russell can reach the level of Max Verstappen. The 50-year-old, who appeared on the AS Colombia podcast, stressed the need for Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff to end his pursuit of the Dutch driver.
Montoya, who appears impressed by the performance of Russell, who claimed victory at the Singapore Grand Prix, stated that the 27-year-old has continued to show that the Brackley-based outfit already have a driver capable of matching Verstappen in the future.
Russell has largely impressed throughout the 2025 campaign, recording 15 top-five finishes in 18 races so far. However, the five-time race winner’s immediate future continues to stir conversation as the F1 season progresses.
