Russell storms to pole in Singapore

George Russell clocked the fastest time during qualifying at the Singapore Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver set a lap almost two-tenths quicker than Max Verstappen, who joins him on the front row.

Russell, who finished on the podium last time out at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, also set a new lap record at the Marina Bay Circuit.

Will he be able to convert his impressive pole position into a race victory? Only time will tell as lights out nears for the start of the Singapore Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc delivers worrying verdict on Ferrari woes

Charles Leclerc weighed in on Scuderia Ferrari’s struggles during qualifying at the Singapore Grand Prix. The Monegasque driver revealed that the team experimented with several changes in an attempt to secure a better result under the night sky of Marina Bay.

Leclerc, entering the weekend off the back of an underwhelming outing at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, could only manage a seventh-place start, with teammate Lewis Hamilton qualifying sixth.

Verstappen takes swipe at Norris

Max Verstappen was also left unimpressed following Singapore Grand Prix qualifying. The Red Bull Racing driver took a swipe at Lando Norris, who appeared to have impacted his final push lap in Q3.

The four-time world champion was forced to abort his lap after getting caught in the turbulent air from the McLaren. Verstappen described the incident involving Norris as a result of the driver being “bored.”

The Singapore Grand Prix will take centre stage on Sunday, October 5. Don’t miss a moment of the action, follow our live blog from 12:00 PM BST to stay up to speed with all the happenings at the Marina Bay Circuit.
