A disappointed Charles Leclerc said he and Ferrari "lost the race yesterday" after Lando Norris took the win at the Monaco Grand Prix. The home town hero tried his hardest to make a move past Norris at the front of the grid, but as is always the case around the streets of the Principality, there was no room to make a move into the lead of the race.
With the McLaren driver just pipping him to P1 in the vital Saturday qualifying session, the Monagasque couldn't make anything happen with the mandatory two pit stops that were enforced for today's race, meaning he missed out on back-to-back race wins in Monte Carlo.
The Ferrari driver added 18 points and a second podium of the 2025 season.
"At the end of the day, we lost the race yesterday," Leclerc said in the post-race interviews, conducted by 2009 Monaco Grand Prix winner Charles Leclerc.
"We should have done a better job,Lando did a better job and he deserves the win. It is above our expectations here, I thought we would struggle to be in the top 10 so it has been a good weekend. But I wish I'd won."
There was plenty of support for the Ferrari driver in front of all of his home fans, and he had a message to say to them after the end of the race.
"Being born here, seeing all the Monegasque behind me is very special. It warms my heart to be at home and have so much support," he concluded.
