Aston Martin admits it has breached the cost cap regulations and an Accepted Breach Agreement has been triggered.

The FIA has experienced a delay in issuing teams their cost cap compliance certificates. due to an ongoing probe into a procedural mishap last season.

While it is understood that the Silverstone-based squad did not go over the budget limit set in place in the FIA regulations, when submitting its files and records for the 2024 season for the auditing process a signature was missing.

Despite the absence of the signature was outside of the team's control, and their proactive attitude in keeping the governing body informed, refiling the paperwork as soon as the missing signature was in place, a procedural breach did occur.

As a result an Accepted Breach Agreement where Aston Martin took full responsibility of the issue was prompted. Nevertheless due to the nature of the incidence, it is understood by The Race no punishment will be imposed beyond the financial penalty for the breach.

Newey squeezes every ounce of performance out of Aston Martin

According to incumbent Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll, Adrian Newey is pushing the British racing green coloured team to its maximum ahead of the upcoming regulation change in 2026.

He said: "I think [he's] just changing the thought process about how the car is built and what needs to go into the car and how he can just be more aggressive in all areas to level up in terms of performance.

"So I think it's just extracting and getting more out of everyone, out of the thousand people that we have now."
