Charles Leclerc's and Fernando Alonso's luck does not change at Imola with both drivers' races ruined by the circumstances that took place during the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Alonso and Leclerc the 'unluckiest' drivers
His race was indeed ruined after Aston Martin decided not to pit their cars for fresh tyres during the VSC triggered by Esteban Ocon's DNF. The Spaniard went backwards and out of the points despite having a quick enough car to be in the points.
Fernando Alonso bemoaned his luck as he stated over the radio: "Yeah it's going to be torture. It's a wreck. I'm the unluckiest driver in the **** world!"
Charles Leclerc also wondered if, after a superb drive, he would even be able to finish in the points as he had no tyres available to ditch his worn rubber during the Safety Car triggered by Antonelli.
During the 2023 Brazilian Grand Prix Leclerc complained about his fortune after a reliability issue forced him into an incident and subsequently into retirement infamously stating on the radio: “Why the **** am I so unlucky, why the **** am I so unlucky?”
