Colapinto is currently in Enstone preparing for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
He said, “I am here with some good cars, some quick cars and look with an Argentine trophy, from 1996. Hopefully, one day we will get one of those back.”
“It's super exciting. I've been doing a few laps in the sim as a racing driver, finally. I'm really excited about the weekend, preparing for Imola with the team with the engineers. A lot of work has been done, so exciting days ahead and can't wait for the race weekend.”
Colapinto's return to F1
Last year, Colapinto made his debut in Formula 1 with
Williams. He joined the team in Monza for the Italian Grand Prix after replacing Logan Sargeant. He went on to complete a total of nine races.
Despite his short time at Williams, he impressed several teams, one of which was Alpine, which worked out a deal with Williams to have the Argentinian driver join them. Alpine has given Colapinto five races to prove himself before reevaluating what is best for the team.
