The Spanish Grand Prix was marked by the incident between Max Verstappen and George Russell. Former F1 World Champion Damon Hill had already been quite negative about the Dutch racer, but couldn't resist adding fuel to the fire.
Damon Hill became the 1996 World Champion with Williams and later worked for a long time as an analyst for Sky Sports. Nowadays, Hill is mainly active through his social media channels to voice his opinions about the sport. When Verstappen offered his apologies yesterday for the collision with Russell, the former analyst saw it as an opportunity to once again criticise the actions of the Dutchman.
On Instagram, Hill posted a story with the text from Verstappen's post in which the reigning world champion stated that his action was incorrect and should not have happened. The Brit accompanied the repost of this text with the words "Everyone knows this."

Hill on Verstappen's penalty points on the license

Hill didn't just stop at criticizing the apologies made by the Dutchman. The former F1 driver also posted a photo of the current penalty points that the F1 drivers have. Verstappen is at the top of this 'ranking' with eleven points, just one point away from a suspension. You can read about what the Red Bull Racing driver received these penalty points for here.
The fact that Verstappen is close to a suspension clearly pleased the 64-year-old Brit. Hill wrote: "The FIA's marketing strategy?" With this, he once again portrays Verstappen in a negative light.
