Martin Brundle sees in one area particular, Oscar Piastri is better than his teammate than Lando Norris. Piastri managed to win the Miami Grand Prix last Sunday. After the start, where Norris lost multiple positions because of a battle with Max Verstappen, the Briton could not catch the Australian who took the lead on Lap 14.
"Oscar's racecraft is good. He's definitely got the edge over Norris on racecraft," Brundle shared his verdict on Sky Sports after the race.
"Norris has a fraction of an edge on pace when he hooks it all up. Piastri's getting the job done, getting the moves made, not making mistakes and getting victories," he continued.
The standings in the F1 championship after the Miami Grand Prix
So far this season, after six rounds have been completed, Piastri has scored 131 points. With that, he leads his teammate Norris by 16 points in the world drivers' standings.
Piastri managed to earn his third straight victory in the state of Florida, after he managed to overtake both Kimi Antonelli and Verstappen, and he did not look back afterwards, and finished 37 seconds ahead of third-placed George Russell.
After his battle with Verstappen, Norris fell down to sixth position, and during his second stint, his gap to Piastri was already too big to catch up. He eventually crossed the finish line 4.6 seconds behind the Australian driver.
The Formula 1 season will continue in two weeks time in Imola.
