In a chaotic qualifying session plagued by countless red flags, it’s Max Verstappen who takes pole, just as he did in Monza. The Dutchman topped the timesheets with a 1:41.117, finishing ahead of an incredible Carlos Sainz in the Williams and Liam Lawson in the Racing Bulls.
It was a nightmare for McLaren and Ferrari: Norris managed only seventh after brushing the wall on his final attempt, while Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc crashed heavily into the barriers and will start ninth and tenth. Hamilton, meanwhile, was knocked out in Q2.
