“F1” movie star provides major details on “the most authentic movie ever done about the F1 world”

With just under three weeks to go until its official theatrical release, F1—the brand-new Formula 1-themed film produced by Joseph Kosinski (director of Top Gun: Maverick)—is generating major buzz, especially given the significant involvement of Lewis Hamilton through his Dawn Apollo Films, the film and television production company founded by Lewis Hamilton in 2022, together with his manager Penni Thow.

The anticipation among fans is sky-high as they wait to see how the film will actually be structured—and what kind of box office response it will generate, especially with Brad Pitt starring in the lead role.

''It's a ride, it's a thrilling ride of a movie, and the quality of everybody involved in it is fantastic'', Javier Bardem, who will play the role of team owner and team principal of APX GP in F1, shared in an interview with Formula 1.

Speaking about his first impressions after reading the script, Bardem revealed: ''I felt like I was absolutely drawn into that world because of the quality and the quantity of the detail, the tiny detail that really makes you understand every aspect involved in the F1 world. And I knew that, technically speaking, visually speaking, it is going to be a tremendous, very strong movie. I think it's going to be the most authentic movie ever done about the F1 world''.

Adding more details about the role his character will play, the actor concluded: ''Ruben is the team owner of APXGP. He's from Spain and, and we meet him very early in the story because he's on a mission. He really has to get the attention of his old friend, Sonny Hayes, who happened to be his race mate back in the day, in order for Sonny to save his team''.
