Confirmed: Nyck de Vries will remain in F1 in 2026 after a standout season

Nyck de Vries will remain active in Formula 1 in 2026. The Dutchman has once again been appointed by McLaren as one of the permanent simulator drivers, GPblog can confirm.

Former Formula E world champion De Vries returned to McLaren in 2025, having previously been one of the team’s junior drivers.

Among other times during race weekends, De Vries was active at the McLaren factory in Woking, working in the simulator to refine the setup of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri’s cars.

Ex-Formula 1 driver gets arrested in the US for assault at son's go-kart event

Former Formula 1 driver Antonio Pizzonia was arrested in Texas at his son's go-kart event. The Brazilian gave his explanation for the incident on social media, writing that he instinctively wanted to defend his son.

Pizzonia was arrested on Saturday for assault, TMZ Sports first reported, but the Brazilian has since been released.

The former Formula 1 driver was at the 2026 Superkarts! USA Winter Series, supporting his son, Antonio Pizzonia Neto.
