Lewis Hamilton has issued a declaration of love for the Scuderia Ferrari outfit amid the recent adversity he has dealt with. The British driver took to social media to share his emotional message.
“I fully believe we will get there. Forza Ferrari.”- Lewis Hamilton
Hamilton, who in the lead-up to the Singapore Grand Prix mourned the passing of his pet Roscoe, found little reprieve with his outing at Marina Bay. The seven-time world champion, however, showed remarkable resilience amid the difficulties, expressing his thoughts in a statement published on Instagram.
“After a tough week, it feels good to be home. I had some time to reflect on my journey from Singapore, and the main emotion I’m feeling is gratitude,” Hamilton wrote.
“The support and love I have felt since losing Roscoe has been a powerful reminder that, even when things sometimes seem dark, there is so much good in the world. You just have to look for it.”
Hamilton went on to highlight the positives within the Ferrari camp despite the challenging weekend.
“I’m looking at the positives on track too. The media headlines only tell one story — one where we don’t get things quite right or things don’t go our way. But what I have been focused on over the past few months is the other story — the one about how this team responds when things go wrong. How we get back up, and we go again.”
Reflecting on his Singapore race, he added:
“Yesterday was the perfect example. We got the strategy right, but the brake issue set us back just when momentum was building. So now we get back in the factory, learn from this last race, and plan for the next one.”
He concluded by reaffirming his pride in the team and his determination to contribute to Ferrari’s success.
“I’m really proud of this team and want to help deliver the results they and the tifosi deserve. I see the progress we are making and the hard work that goes into every race, but this is Ferrari. Progress alone is not enough. To achieve greatness, we need to go further, be better.”
“There is so much we can achieve together, and if we can build on our successes and change the things we need to, I fully believe we will get there. Forza Ferrari,” he concluded.
Hamilton endured another challenging race at the Marina Bay circuit, following his forgettable outing at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver could only manage a sixth-place start under the Singapore night sky. While he had hoped to move up through the field on race day, the former Mercedes driver experienced a difficult race that culminated in a five-second penalty.
Hamilton’s front-left brake suffered a failure in the final stages of the race, forcing him to complete the closing laps with limited braking power. This led him to exceed track limits on multiple occasions as he battled to bring the car home.
