Isack Hadjar has hinted that he could one day trade asphalt for the dusty challenges of the Dakar Rally.
“It's a funny one to do, but it's very interesting."- Isack Hadjar
Speaking during Red Bull Racing’s 2026 car livery launch, Hadjar responded to questions about competing in other racing categories where the team’s engine partner, Ford, has a presence. Recounting his experience with the Ford Raptor Rally truck, he said:
"I've tried the Ford Raptor. I did a filming day, the Dakar one, and it's so much fun. It's so different from what I'm used to. I really enjoyed it, so maybe one day,” Hadjar told GPblog.

When pressed about the idea of actually racing in the Dakar Rally, he added:
"Yeah, it looks like hell. It's a funny one to do, but it's very interesting."
Conversations about Formula 1 drivers branching out to compete in other racing categories have recently gained traction, particularly off the back of Max Verstappen’s exploit at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The Dutch driver stormed to victory in his debut GT3 race at the Green Hell.
In any instance, Hadjar, opt to participate in the Dakar, he would follow in the steps of Fernando Alonso, among several previous drivers to have competed in the gruelling race. The two-time F1 champion drove for the Toyota works team during his 2020 adventure.
The French driver highlighted how exquisite Verstappen’s driving is, particularly under pressure during crucial moments in a Formula 1 race.
