Lewis Hamilton has not acclimated as quickly to Ferrari as he might have hoped. Instead, the first half of the season saw him struggle and call himself useless. During the Dutch Grand Prix media day, he reflected on enjoying Formula 1.

Hamilton is one of the most decorated F1 drivers in the history of the sport. However, that does not stop him from doubting himself amid bad results. At the Hungarian Grand Prix, he said Ferrari should replace the driver (I.e. him) as he qualified 16th and his teammate, Charles Leclerc, was on pole position.

'The most important part'

Hamilton is looking forward to the last ten races in the 2025 season. When asked how hard it was for him to separate having fun from being under pressure, he admitted that it was very important to him.

"It’s probably the most important part, because that’s the reason I got into this sport."

Hamilton won the Shanghai sprint race but other than that has failed to get onto a feature race podium. His highest result has been fourth place at the Canadian, Austrian and British Grand Prix.

He then questions, "It was fun for me. And I think for anyone, in whatever career you’re in, if you’re not enjoying what you’re doing, then why are you doing it?"

"Often there’s so much noise you can lose sight of what’s really, really important. So that’s why I’m saying I just really want to focus on getting back to that enjoyment."

He then said the noise around his move has dimmed his enjoyment.

"I joined the team that I’ve always dreamed of driving for, and there’s been so much noise around that it’s kind of clouded us from getting to enjoy it. So now it’s about moving those things aside and just getting back to focusing on the pure love of what we do."
