Jeremy Clarkson, former host of Top Gear, believes that Christian Horner should be worried about his career in Formula 1. The Brit does not see the dismissed team principal at Red Bull Racing finding a position at Alpine or Ferrari.

In his column in The Sun, Clarkson revealed that he had reached out to Horner. In his message, the Brit made it known that he knew exactly how Horner feels, as he had also been fired before.

Whether or not Horner responded remains unclear. However, Clarkson writes that it could become difficult for Horner to return to Formula 1 in the near future. While Ferrari and Alpine are mentioned by analysts as possible destinations, Clarkson does not believe this.

Alpine and Ferrari options for Horner?

“The clever money is saying he’ll go to Alpine,” writes the presenter. “But next year they will have Mercedes engines. Which means Christian would have to work with Silver Arrows boss Toto Wolff. And as those two really don’t get on, I can’t see that happening.”

“Ferrari? Possibly, but that would mean upping sticks and moving to Italy. And dealing with Sir Hamilton.”

GPblog previously reported that employment at Alpine could become difficult, due to the close ties that team has with Mercedes. Will Buxton commented on the situation at Ferrari, saying: "I don’t think Lewis would be a Ferrari driver for much longer!"
