Christian Horner saw Red Bull Racing thoroughly outclassed by the dominant McLarens during the Miami Grand Prix. However, the team principal does not believe that this means the Austrian team is now destined to be beaten everywhere.
Helmut Marko found the gap between McLaren and his Red Bull Racing embarrassing. Max Verstappen ultimately lost between seven-tenths and a second per lap to the later winner, Oscar Piastri, at the Miami Grand Prix. Yet, as outspokenly negative as the external advisor is, team principal Christian Horner is not.

Miami has 'exposed McLaren's advantage'

The Brit thinks it's not a given that the differences will always be so immense. Max Verstappen has still managed to put the RB21 in pole position on Saturday, after all. "Well of course it varies from circuit to circuit," he explained to the media, including GPblog. "In the last race, we had the pace to beat the McLarens. This race has exposed their advantage and they've been able to operate in a window that they've been very effective with."
Oscar Piastri won his third consecutive Grand Prix at the Miami International Autodrome. The McLaren driver sits at the top of the F1 standings after extending his gap with the sixth victory of his career.
"So of course when you look at that performance it feels like a lot to find but we've seen how quickly from circuit to circuit things can change. So obviously we know that the areas that we need to improve and they haven't changed from before we arrived here," Horner stated.
Red Bull will be looking to bounce back at the upcoming European triple header. The first of the three kicks off at the iconic Imola circuit with the race taking place on May 18.
