The RB19 is arguably the best car that has ever driven in
Formula 1. The car performed even a lot better than the RB18, which became dominant, especially after the summer break. Still, the difference between the RB18's components and those of the RB19 is not great, Red Bull team boss
Christian Horner told
Motorsport.com.
Red Bull struggled at the beginning of 2022 against
Ferrari, who were very competitive. However, the RB18 went through many developments as the season progressed. As a result, the Scuderia was unable to catch up with the Austrian team. In 2023, nobody came close to
Max Verstappen's team. The Dutchman won 19 races, and his teammate
Sergio Perez won two, meaning only one race was not won.
The important modification for RB19
Despite being more dominant, the RB19 is not very different from the 2022 car. According to Horner, Red Bull focused on one particular problem: "The most significant thing that we were able to address was the weight. We were so late going on to the new regs in 2021, because of that championship battle [the previous year] that the car in 2022 was a bit on the chunky side. So, we managed to get 20 kilos out of the car coming into this year, and tidy up some of the imperfections."
