The Monaco Grand Prix marks the second leg of the 2025 European triple-header, and in recent years, the iconic street race has delivered a mix of sun-soaked sessions and dramatic rain-affected moments, and it looks like another one of those weekends could be in store. Here’s how this upcoming weekend in Monte Carlo is looking... After a sunny weekend in Emilia-Romagna,
Formula 1 moves onto one of the most infamous tracks of the year, around the tight streets of Monaco. The race will be followed by the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, which will conclude the triple-header.
Max Verstappen will be eager to carry his
winning momentum from Imola into the challenging streets of Monaco as the championship battle heats up. Meanwhile, McLaren will be keen to bite back, aiming to end their long wait for a Monaco victory — their last coming in 2008 when Lewis Hamilton overcame two punctures and wet weather to claim the top step of the podium.

Chance of rain for qualifying growing
The action gets underway on Friday, with both free practices expected to have dry conditions.
FP1 will see bright and sunny skies without a single percentage chance of rain, with the temperature sticking at around 22 degrees Celsius. Track temperature will reach highs of 45 degrees Celsius.
FB2 will have a little higher chance of rain at 20%, but with the temperature dropping by just one degree to 21 degrees Celsius, it will still be a warm session at 17:00 local time. Average winds for both sessions will be between 10 and 20 kph.
However, Saturday is where chaos could ensue. FP3 is expected to stay sunny with an average temperature of 21 degrees Celsius, with similar track temperatures and winds as seen on Friday.
Meanwhile, what was a 15 per cent chance of rain has now turned into a 40% chance, potentially wreaking havoc on the most important of qualifying sessions, with 22 degrees Celsius the expected temperature.
