When asked a question, Guenther Steiner is bound to give you an answer, regardless of the F1 topic in most cases. But when the Italian is pressed for who he thinks the worst F1 driver is, there's only one name that comes to mind: Lance Stroll. During the Red Flags podcast, the claim was made. 'Lance Stroll is not F1's worst driver.' For Steiner, the rebuttal was easy to come by.
“I’m thinking, who could be worse?," said Steiner.
Steiner sees Stroll's problem
And his reasoning is built upon, not Stroll's talent, but rather on a criticism that has been aimed at the Canadian driver for some time now.
“I always say, he’s not a bad driver, I’ve got more of an issue with his attitude than with his driving. I think it’s an attitude thing, it’s like he doesn’t really seem to enjoy himself or try to give the fans some joy."
“It’s like, ¿I’ve got a shit job,' no you have not! I don’t think there is a clear worst driver. There is no shit drivers on the track anymore, therefore I don’t know what to say."
“I was thinking about Lawson, but then there’s Monte Carlo, but there is no really bad driver, they’re all pretty good!"
“He has no joy, he’s not even funny!” Steiner concluded his assessment.
Stroll had to sit out the Spanish Grand Prix, due to an injury,
that Sky Sports commentator David Croft doubts the origins of very much. At the moment,
having had surgery performed on his wrist earlier in the week, the Canadian driver whilst expected to make the grid for his home race, he is yet to be confirmed by Aston Martin itself.
