Lando Norris has stated that his subpar qualifying performance has made his life 'too difficult' so far this season. At a track like Monaco where qualifying is crucial, Norris will be hoping to improve qualifying performance immediately. Last weekend in Imola, the Brit lined up on the grid in fourth place, 0.292 seconds behind polesitter and teammate Oscar Piastri.
The five-time Grand Prix winner still had a positive race and finished in second behind
Max Verstappen after passing Piastri in the closing stages.
The Monte Carlo street circuit is a notoriously hard track to overtake on. At the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix, there were no changes to position in the top 10. Therefore, the FIA has introduced a new rule meaning that all cars must stop at least twice during Sunday's Grand Prix with the hope of improving racing action.
Norris self-critical: 'I make my life way too difficult'
"I'm very happy with my Sundays. I have been the whole season. I still feel like I'm very strong. It's just that my Saturdays just make my life way too difficult come Sunday," Norris began to Sky Sports after the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
"I have to always fight back. I always need to take risks with overtakes and I work harder than what I should and what I need to."

Despite his qualifying doubts, Norris is doing his best to remain positive and look ahead. The Brit sits in second in the drivers standings, 13 points behind teammate Oscar Piastri heading into the illustrious race in the principality.
"So I'm still confident, I'm happy, I'm positive but I'm not happy with my performances in qualifying and I'm working on them as much as I can. I'm doing the best job I can in qualifying and I'm working on them as much as I can, but it still takes time."
