Lando Norris has put down his mistakes during the 2025 F1 season to the complexities of this year's McLaren, whilst also claiming he should be able to drive the car that is given to him. The championship runner-up now reacts to McLaren's upgrades, specifically designed to make the McLaren easier to drive for him.
Andrea Stella, during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, stated that McLaren were aiming to make the MCL39 easier to drive for Norris, who was in turn asked regarding the papaya team's development intentions in this regard at the FIA drivers' press conference ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.
"I certainly think it will help," Norris shares his thoughts on the update. "I honestly don’t know the exact timeline of things. There’s also a mixture of things that will slowly come and be implemented over time."

"There are things I’m working on separately, and hopefully that’s a better fix than waiting for other bits to come," says Norris, alluding to the 2024 and 2025 cars' differences once more.
"But it’s good we’re working as a team and trying to understand these things. It’s been clear that there have been differences from last year in how the car works, how it acts, and how I’m able to get lap time out of it and perform."
"So, a mixture of things. I have to be a little patient with some things – some are bigger than others – but it takes time. So I just keep my head down and keep pushing myself."
The Briton trials teammate Oscar Piastri, the current championship leader by 10 points, and is closely followed by rival Max Verstappen, by a mere two points. Following a myriad of errors, Norris will be hoping he can have his first clean weekend since Australia, the season opener, to regain the momentum in the title fight.
