Lando Norris is often in the eye of the hurricane for how hard he is on himself during interviews, something the McLaren driver reveals, former F1 champion, Sebastian Vettel has been helping him with.
Lando Norris' season has not been al it could be. The Briton has lost many valuable points due to his subpar performances in all but one qualifying session, not to mention a mistake - or many more - during the races. Afterwards, the Briton is often harsh on himself in the media interviews.

'Seb Vettel texts me often about it'

The current championship runner-up, speaking to Sky Sports F1, doubled down on his approach
“It’s my way of doing things. Maybe it’s not a perfect way," he conceded, "But it’s how I’ve grown up. It’s how I feel I’ve always learned from my mistakes in the best ways."
“I’m just not quick enough," he harshly yet again, observed his own performances.
“Maybe I shouldn’t share as many things as I do. I’m just honest. You ask me a question, and I’m honest in my answer,” he added, before revealing Vettel has been helping him in that sense.
“Seb often texts me about these kinds of things. Being a racing driver is not just about driving the car. There’s many other factors to it, and over the last few months, and then the last year, I’ve learned more about the off-track stuff, on how to improve it, but I’m always open for opportunities to improve even more.”

Norris' objective will require nothing short of 'perfection' given the competition he has

The first step, is to believe in his own capabilities, says Norris. “I mean, simply, just do what I do, because I believe what I can do is better than what they can do,” he said. “That’s a big statement to say, but I’ve got to believe it."
But, that will only get you half-way there, as 'perfection' is required to win, sees the McLaren driver, particularly when going up agains rivals the likes of Max Verstappen and McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri.
“That’s one of the things I’ve learned, is that I’ve got to believe in myself, and I do more than ever. But you’ve got to be close to perfect, especially when you’re against Max [Verstappen], when you’re against Oscar [Piastri].”
