Lando Norris has discussed some of the peculiarities of the new Formula 1 regulations in his first video ahead of the 2026 season.

“Most things you’ve got to throw out the window because it's a fresh slate…”

The British driver, who claimed his maiden Drivers’ Championship in 2025, expressed his excitement about returning for the new season, while also touching on the new learnings and changes that come with the sweeping 2026 F1 overhaul.

“Hello everyone, welcome back to 2026! This is my first video I'm recording for anyone in 2026. It's actually my second day already, not my first, but it all starts over again from yesterday, which doesn’t feel that long ago—I was speaking to you guys back in Abu Dhabi,” Norris began.

“But I’m excited! It’s a completely new season. You kind of have to forget everything—not just some things, but most things. You’ve got to throw them out the window because it’s a fresh slate, a fresh piece of paper for everyone,” the 26-year-old added.

Norris, however, detailed his excitement about the changes, highlighting how he has continued to prepare for the upcoming campaign.

“I’m so excited—many more challenges ahead, but I’m excited for all of it. I’ve been on the sim today, and I was on the sim yesterday as well.”

Further stressing his points, he continued:

“Plenty of new things, new questions, new challenges, new bits and bobs, and things I’ve got to remember. We’re doing our best to make sure we’re as prepared as we can be. We’ve got testing at the end of the month already, so it’s coming along quickly. But I’m excited,” he concluded.

The 2026 campaign will usher in one of the biggest overhauls witnessed in the history of Formula 1. The changes will span from the engines and their deployment to the chassis and overall aerodynamics. The tyres and several other components drivers have grown familiar with are also set to undergo respective changes.

Norris tipped to win 2026 title

In his outlook for the upcoming campaign, former Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko has tipped Norris to win another Drivers’ Championship.

The 82-year-old, in his assessment, hinted he expects a driver with a Mercedes power unit to win the championship, before singling out Norris, whose experience in 2025 he believes will serve as key to winning another title.
