Lando Norris has reflected in-depth on his tussle with Max Verstappen at the Miami Grand Prix. Despite finishing second place, the Brit appeared upset with Verstappen, stating that he feels as if the Dutchman can do 'whatever he wants'.
The McLaren driver fell to sixth place after running off the track in a first-lap tussle with his Red Bull rival.
"Then I'm in the wall," Norris explained on Sky Sports, interrupting interviewer Rachel Brookes who reflected on the moment with the Brit.
Was Max Verstappen's move unfair in the eyes of Norris? "It's not for me to decide," he stated.
Brookes then told Norris that she'd asked Verstappen if he thought the move was unpredictable, to which he cut her off again with: "Yeah, what do you think he's going to say?"
Norris, who appeared highly strung in the media pen, was then questioned about how to beat Max Verstappen. "Qualify ahead," he stated before elaborating. "Yeah, we both (Piastri and himself) got past him. But, you just want to be in the perfect place, but in the end, he just let me go. He never put up a fight again, so it just depends on how much he wants to fight you. He's doing a good job, he can do whatever he wants." Norris was asked if he really meant that, before responding sarcastically: "No, I'm just saying it for the interview."
Would he then change anything about how he handled the race in Miami? "Nothing."

Norris 'still not the happiest' in McLaren's 2025 challenger

The McLaren driver then continued discussing the incident, in a little bit more depth now. "Well, there's a gap, I've got to go for it. I'm not going to back out, I'm into race. I just, I'll stop talking."
He cut himself off before looking back at the weekend in Flordia with a more positive outlook. "I know it's still been a very good weekend for me. I'm happy with my progress, I felt more comfortable in the car once again. Still, things I need to make progress on. I'm still not in the happiest, most perfect place."
"So just keep chipping away. It's been a positive weekend, the ace is very strong, what's yesterday, what's today, just these little things have got in the way and that happens, so I'm so happy, not the position that I want, of course, I'm here to try and fight for a win, but there's always next time."
