Jack Doohan's stint as an F1 driver has come to an end, and compatriot Oscar Piastri has some words of comfort for the young Aussie driver.
Executive advisor for Renault CEO Luca de Meo, and current acting team principal for Alpine F1 team - following Oliver Oakes resignation - has made the decision to demote Jack Doohan to a reserve driver role and replace him with Argentine Franco Colapinto.

Fellow Aussi, Oscar Piastri, before the news was made official had already heard the rumblings, as he stated in Australia's Wide World of Sports.
"I've not heard it officially that Jack's out, but I've obviously seen the talk," said the current championship leader, who believes that not making it in F1 is not as bad as it sounds and that he can still take pride in having lived the dream.
"I think if it is the end of the road for Jack, he can be very proud of firstly making it to Formula One. It's not an easy thing, especially coming from Australia. There's a lot of hard decisions along the way."
"If he has had his final race, then hold your head up high. You've been an F1 driver and no one can take that away from you. I'm sure he'll have a successful career in whatever happens," concluded Piastri.
Doohan himself was grateful to the team for the trust, and stated that they still had more objectives to achieve, before stating that he would be shifting his focus to his own personal dreams.
