Oscar Piastri just missed out on the victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Australian crossed the finish line right behind his teammate Lando Norris.

Not much separated the two McLaren drivers at the Hungaroring, but eventually, it was Norris who finished in first place.

Norris was on a one-stop strategy, Oscar Piastri completed a two-stop last Sunday. The Australian also came close to colliding with his teammate into Turn 1 on the penultimate lap.

Where does Piastri need to improve?

The previous season, Norris had the upper hand over Piastri in qualifying sessions, but also in Hungary, it was the latter who finished ahead on Saturday.

"I've been happy with qualifying this year. Still not been perfect, but it's certainly been a good improvement from last year," he began.

Does Piastri think he needs to considerably improve anywhere else to be able to fight for the world title? "I don't really feel like there's one area that's lacking. I felt the same last year; it's just that I never got it all together on the same weekend very often."

He continued: "This year, I felt much more like that, and it's just going to be about trying to do that every weekend to the end of the year. So that's going to be the key."

Entering the summer break, Piastri remains in the lead in the drivers' standings ahead of Norris. Currently, the gap stands at nine points. In third place in the standings is Max Verstappen, who finished in ninth position in Hungary. The Dutchman trails the leading McLaren driver by 97 points.
