Due to McLaren's superiority, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are the drivers dubbed as favorites for the Drivers' title. However, their F1 title battle can only go so far, the Aussie has admitted.
That it would be close, was never the question. 3 points separate championship leader Piastri from McLaren teammate and pursuer Norris. This close a fight, however, could it flare up a more on-the-limit side to the title race, where drivers push the boundaries of the well-known McLaren team dynamics?
Speaking to media like GPblog, Piastri responded: "I think going into the year we knew that it's impossible to have your own personal goal directly in parallel with the teams and that's something we've both been very frank about, something that the team have been very aware of."
"At the end of last year we felt that if we went to this year with a car as strong as we finished with we'd be in this situation. I think we've been very good at being open about it, just talking about it."

Piastri and Norris to follow Senna's and Prost's suit in F1 title battle?

Ayrton Senna and ardent rival Alain Prost starred the most intense McLaren intrateam battle ever seen, leaving a flurry of controversial moments in its wake. Piastri and Norris to take a leaf out of the legends' playbook?
"We're never going to do anything that's unsportsmanlike or puts the team in a bad light or puts ourselves in a bad light. I think that's just not who Lando and I are."
"Of course we want to go out and beat each other every weekend, but we're never going to cross that line that's going to cause damage that can't be repaired."
Piastri, highlights his and his teammate's longevous commitment to the Woking-based team as yet another reason to temper emotions in the tight championship battle.
"Because I've said it a few times now, we don't want just one opportunity at this. We're both at McLaren for a very long time after this year, and we want to fight for the championship every single year."
"I think we both understand it's pretty unwise to try and win one championship and bring bring the house down with it."
