Max Verstappen is currently not concerned with the regulations for 2026. The Dutchman stated in Austria that it makes no sense to worry.

In 2026, the Formula 1 regulations will undergo a complete overhaul. This means that the teams will have to introduce both a new power unit and a new car for the next season. Verstappen has said before that the 2026 season is therefore a big question mark.

Verstappen has previously spoken out somewhat critically about the new set of regulations. He has somewhat changed his stance since then. "I'm somewhat in the middle, you know."

"It could be good, it could be bad – we'll see," said the four-time world champion during the press conference at the Red Bull Ring.

"I'm honestly very open-minded," he continued. "I don't even think too much about it – I just enjoy the moment. When I'm in the car next year, we'll figure it out."

'Doubts change nothing' according to Verstappen

According to Verstappen, there's also no point in worrying about it. "I don't make the rules. Even if I have my doubts, it changes nothing."

His plans for 2026 are incredibly simple, as he explained. "I'll just jump in and go with it. As we go along, we'll get better, and we'll understand it better - as has been the case with every regulation in the past. You keep optimising and improving and go from there."
