George Russell has reacted to his third-place finish at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix. The Brit joked that the LEGO driver's parade race was more fun than the actual race in the Sunshine State. Russell reacts: 'LEGO was more fun!'
"Yeah, I was really happy to come away with P3 because I've been struggling this weekend personally and have always been on the back foot," Russell began after the race in Miami.
"But ultimately it wouldn't matter. Got a really good result today, but well done to the McLaren there just down the road."
Oscar Piastri triumphed at the Miami Grand Prix from teammate Lando Norris in a dominant race for McLaren. Max Verstappen's early challenge could not be sustained at the front and the Dutchman finished in fourth after an early tussle with both McLaren drivers.
"It's never an easy challenge (keeping Max behind)," Russell stated after 2009 F1 world champion
Jenson Button asked him about the Red Bull that he had behind him for the majority of the race.
"But I was pretty calm and I felt really good within the car to keep him behind me, so it was good." The Brit then spoke about the
LEGO race that the drivers had earlier in the day. Lifesized LEGO F1 cars replaced the typical driver's parade.
"I think Lando's a bit upset with me because we had a bit of a crash on the Lego race this morning and I gave him a bit of an injured leg, so I don't know if he's going to complain at me for something!" The Brit joked whilst on the way to the podium.
Button then asked Russell what race he enjoyed more in Miami. With a smile on his face, Russell responded: "Oh, without a doubt the race this morning, the Lego race. That was awesome too!"
