Carlos Sainz has every reason to be confident about the
Bahrain Grand Prix.
Ferrari came out strong during the test days and hopes to compete at the front. For Sainz the hope of his first-ever
Formula 1 victory is on the horizon.
The 27-year-old driver from Madrid is chasing his first win since coming to
Formula 1 in 2015. Of course, the ultimate goal is to become a world champion, but for that he will have to reach this milestone first.
Sainz dreams of first F1 win
Ferrari's good performance in the winter tests and the revised regulations have rekindled those hopes.
"This year I will continue to pursue the dream I have of winning a race in Formula 1," Sainz said in the
Beyond the Grid-podcast.
He stresses that of course he wants to become a world champion, but in order to do so he will have to achieve a victory first. "I don't know if it will happen, but that's what I have in mind and what I think about when I go to sleep," said the Ferrari driver.
