Ralf Schumacher has criticised Lando Norris for 'losing determination' after his performance in the Miami Grand Prix, where the German former F1 driver saw the Briton unable to do what is teammate Oscar Piastri could, in their battle against Max Verstappen.
Norris tried and tried, but he could not find a quick way past ahead of Verstappen. Schumacher believes there's something off about the McLaren driver's approach to F1 racing.

'What's wrong with Norris?', wonders Ralf Schumacher

"I don't know what's wrong with Norris. He was always very determined in karting and in previous series, but he's lost that a bit. Maybe because he's too cautious and too worried about losing points and losing ground," said the German to Sky Sports.de.
Whereas Piastri was able to keep his cool. bide his time and pick his moment, Norris looked anxious and destabilised, even running Verstappen and himself wide after a botched overtake attempt that ended up with him having to give up the position back to the Dutchman.
"He urgently needs to work on that. He's also quickly developed a reputation for people just digging in [and not letting him overtake]. While Piastri even forced Max Verstappen into a small mistake and got through on the inside."

Norris, since the second round of the championship in China has fallen to teammate Piastri every race, with the exception of Japan where Piastri was quicker in the race. The momentum seems to be with the Australian and if Norris can't find an answer to his teammate's form soon, the championship may start to tip the way of his young teammate.
