Sergio Perez has been in talks with several teams as the Mexican looks for a 2026 Formula 1 seat after he left Red Bull Racing in 2024.
The Mexican made his F1 debut in 2011 for Sauber, with his F1 career spanning over 14 years in the pinnacle of motorsport, which has seen six wins and 39 podiums in his career.
Perez made the move to Red Bull Racing for the 2021 season, and although he could not challenge Max Verstappen for the world championship, two P2 finishes in 2022 and 2023 led the Austrian team to dominant constructors' titles in those two seasons.
However, after a challenging 2024 season behind the wheel of the RB20 next to world champion Verstappen, he and Red Bull parted ways, leaving him without a seat for next season.

Perez not just in talks with Cadillac for possible F1 seat

Cadillac has been vocal about Perez being one of the candidates for a seat in the new F1 team, and rumours about initial talks with Alpine have since surfaced. However, GPblog understands that Perez's camp is in talks with two teams besides Cadillac about a possible seat for the 2026 season.
GPblog sat down with Mario Andretti in an exclusive interview at the Miami Grand Prix. Andretti, director on the board at Cadillac, again confirmed Perez as a serious candidate for the seat, but stressed no decisions have been made.
There have been lots of rumours surrounding a Perez and Cadillac partnership, with those advanced talks between the two parties showing that the 35-year-old is on the radar of the new team.
