Not only Lewis Hamilton was investigated after qualifying for impeding another driver, but also Lance Stroll. The Canadian picked up his second grid penalty of the weekend on Saturday.
Stroll finished in P19 in Q1, after Kimi Antonelli's crash in Turn 10 prevented him from finishing his final lap in the session.
Earlier in the session, the Canadian impeded Pierre Gasly in the Nouvelle Chicane considerably, and as a result, received a three-place grid penalty by the stewards.
Over the team radio, Stroll explained he only needed to let Hamilton past and didn't know an Alpine was behind, however, the stewards argued: "He therefore wrongly assumed that there was no other car to be let by. In the circumstances, we imposed the usual penalty of a drop of 3 grid positions."
This is the second grid penalty Stroll receives, after he already got a one-place penalty for his collision with Charles Leclerc in FP1. Still, he will remain in P19 on the grid, as Oliver Bearman has a ten-place grid penalty from Friday.
