Lewis Hamilton did not win the world title this year, but he did win another honorary title. Some time ago it was announced that the Englishman would be knighted. In London, it finally happened.
During a ceremony at Windsor, Castle Hamilton was knighted by the Prince of Wales. The driver had taken his mother to the inauguration ceremony. After Charles knighted Hamilton, Hamilton said the beautiful words:
'Thank you.'
Of course, the British media had turned out en masse to witness the historic moment. They all hoped that Hamilton would speak to them afterwards. After all, the Mercedes driver did not speak to the media after the Abu Dhabi race, except for that one moment directly after the finish in front of the
Formula 1 camera. Pending the protests - Mercedes already indicated - Hamilton would avoid the media.
It remains to be seen how Hamilton will react tomorrow during the annual FIA gala. There
Max Verstappen will receive the trophy that goes with the world title. Hamilton will be honoured as number two.
So was Jimmy Saville.
Doesn't get funnier than this.
Didnt realise it was 1621.
Cant stop laughing.
ARISE SIR CHOKE.
?????
Shame on Hamilton for accepting this knighthood and balony sir crap. He pretends to promote equality and then accepts sir n knighthood that promotes inequality. EPITOME OF HYPOCRISY.
Duplicatous INHUMANE creature
Perhaps he is a hypocrite but how did we get to "inhumane creature"? How do we go from emotions that are associated with disbelief to the emotion of anger?
As a Briton, I reject his knighthood, I reject his title of Sir, and his hollow 7 titles. Yawn fest.
Guys, let’s drop it and move on. Both are champs, if one is not worth it then they are not worth to be the other opponent. We have such a great season this year. Sometimes one gets lucky than the other, if both car and drivers are the same, then Max would not take huge risks every single time, and Lewis would be 20x champ and that’s not something we want to see. If Lewis is really the best he will come back next year and beat his teammate and everybody else. Risks come with bold decisions, safe bets do not reward every single time. If merc just took one of the two opportunities to change tires as everyone does then rest was history. If you get frustrated it could be many years to come. All drivers are champ but just a few stand out, given a good car they can make the difference, but being the best you have to have balls and hit the limit.
Congrats to LH. Although I thought he was already knighted. But still, congrats to him.
Congrats to Lewis!
Impressive achievment.
From a Dutch MV fan!
Wow, Hamilton titled as “Sir” and now fully Knighted. Very impressive.
loooo loooo the knight :)))) this reminds me of the bla c kadder:))))
these brits really have a dark se se of humour... if you understand what I mean :)))
they give that title very soon sir elton john , sir paul mccartney
good singers but not more than that
All this, because they got beaten by the Energy drink manufacturer, who will become a proper constructor in 2026.
FIA should strip Merc off the Constructors title as well because of the bowling they did at Hungary and Silverstone. The point difference is lesser than that.
Bunch of crybabies.
Mercedes doesn't even want to show up at any press events or award ceremonies. They could care less if you strip them of it LOL
See, when you have talent. garbage awards like driver of the day, most popular driver in the under 18 category and things like that don't matter. Crashtappen can have all of that. Lewis and Mercedes are In a different league. Now, let's see that photo of this year's drivers champion Michael Massi on Friday.
Exactly. They are in the league of "Sore losers and whiners".
Absolutely spot on.
Yeah Mercedes and Lewis are in another league just like their fanbase and that will be the one of toddlers ???
Outwardly, of course he will not admit it, but deep down, he realises that he has been beaten by a faster and more talented driver this season.
It it wasn't for the accidents that lost Max points caused by crashes with himself and his team mate plus the tyre blowout, Max would have been over 40 points ahead.
So, to have only lost by 8 points, is already showing him in good light, as the gap could very easily been a lot larger!
"faster and talented" driver? ? ? ? ? ?
Masi has not shown us any lap times yet, but maybe he does do pretty well in a car.
you really only watch the last race, man take your blinders off and watch the whole year
Even though I am not British and don't necessarily understand this procedure congratulations to Lewis as it is their top honor.
Apparently. Some "celebrity" named "Rico" visited Crashtappen to congratulate him on his Netflix win ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
I can't stop laughing
These two are not in the same league
Well-deserved Sir Lewis Hamilton.
The world got to see how great a champion you are.
Wonderfully generous and dignified reaction from @LewisHamilton. He really is very special, on the track, and off it. Class act to the end.
You know this is a British title. Which means nothing in most countries in the world.
Hamilton is a great driver but being knighted by such an awful institute doesn't make him bigger.
Okay what ever you say mate .
Well done listening buddy
Good stuff, isn't it?
What ever you say mate .
(K)
What ever you say mate.
Well you still read my comments and react on it. So we both know it you're lying. Keep up the spirit
Naah just getting rid of the noise, what ever you say mate .
I don't want to bash Hamilton but how does this fit into his personal agenda?
Knighted by a member of a racist institute called the English crown which also hides a pedophile in their palaces.
Which is easier to do? Be a sportsman who is blind to anything beyond winning championships or be someone who stands for some causes that invite some resentment? I get it some people don't like the LBGTQ movement and will not like that he will stand for them. But let's give it to the guy for standing for something when it is easier to stand for nothing. Sure your question relates to consistency but perhaps the question back would be... why does this really bother you? Do you feel he is faking his stand or do you feel that those he stands for will hate him for it? What is this going to change in his ability to still speak for the BLM movement for example?
Mate. Please read what I've wrote. I am totally with him about the movements he's supporting. I also think awarding him isn.t bad at all. I Just don't support an institute like the British Royal family where racism and pedophilia exist but are hidden away.
I would have admired Hamilton a lot when he would have refused this knighthood just because filth within that family.
I am following your thinking and I can see that you actually don't have a problem with him per se but you wish that he would also help with a cause that is close to your heart. Is it possible that he would have a problem with racism but not share the same crusade you wish to see against the Royal Family? If that is the case then don't dock the guy for not having the same passion about your cause... but be like him stand up for what you believe... find other celebrities that have the same passion and work with them.
I don't say he is. Inconsistency is one thing. Proudly excepting awards from an institute like that is something else. Yes that is my opinion and therefore I also said he can do whatever he likes to do.
Apart from this there are quite some moments within the F1 where he isn't consistent with his words. But that I don't mind. And after so many wins it can be difficult to find some new words to thank the crowd (but it is so cheesy to hear every time him talking about the best crowd in the world).
Yes I support another driver but that doesn't mean I dislike Hamilton (we do see those people here from both sides) I just wonder if this acceptance was the best move he could made.
So the real point in your argument is that you do not believe that he sincerely supports those causes. But you are suggesting that inconsistency is equal to insincerity which is not necessarily true. It is likely that he believes in those causes and still not feel as much passion against the Royal family like you. For all sorts of reasons. Apart from this incidence have you ever felt like he is an insincere person?
Well that could be of course. But like him being so passionate about topics like slavery, racism and equality there was a enormous possibility for him to show that. He can do whatever he wants but that institute he now bends for is one of the groups which are the opposite he stands for. That's weird and naïf and yes that is raising some doubts about how sincere he is. That's a pity
As long as he is getting money, he doesn't care about anything else. He only cares about money and fame. That's it. Rest is all pretentious balony.
Jimmy Saville is also a Sir.
You make a good point.
WAS!
And he wasn't known as a paedo then.
See the flaw in your statement?
And I had a response ready that was so bad (in relation to you and Savile) that even I couldn't post it. Just so you know :)
