Lewis Hamilton's fans have taken to social media to vent their frustration over a rather costly replica put up for sale at Ferrari's online store.
That Hamilton is a stand-alone brand in F1 is not up for discussion, as former Haas F1 team boss Guenther Steiner tated recently.
As such the Briton's fans did not hesitate twice as they flocked behind their F1 idol and discarded the Mercedes characteristic silver colours, for Ferrari's scarlet red.
However, when Ferrari posted up for sale a replica of Lewis Hamilton's race suit priced at £3400 (€3,920.20 approximately, ed.), fans took to X to express their displeasure at the cost.
Lewis Hamilton has always been at advocate for the accessibility and the affordability of F1 for the average fan. He highlighted the costly ticket prices to attend the Las Vegas Grand Prix, and also criticised the 2024 British Grand Prix for what he believed to be too highly priced tickets.
The article in question though, is a limited edition up to the FIA's official standards and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The decription of the product reads: "The exact replica of the garment worn on the tracks by Lewis Hamilton, in fireproof material, was made in Turin in Puma's certified factory where the official uniforms of Scuderia Ferrari HP drivers are also made and is FIA homologated (not approved for use in the U.S.) . A cult piece for fans to wear the excitement of the race."
The race suit replica has since been listed as sold out, a clear statement by fans the world over who were unable to resist the alure of the Ferrari-Hamilton combination.
