Yuki Tsunoda has taken to his X account to write a heartfelt post as team principal Christian Horner was dismissed on Wednesday.
The Japanese driver was brought in earlier this season ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix after Liam Lawson floundered in the opening two rounds.
He will remain the final driver signed to the Red Bull team at the end of the Horner era which lasted 20 years.
Horner will be replaced by Laurent Mekies, who is being promoted from the Racing Bulls team, and Alan Permane will lead the junior outfit.
Tsunoda said: "Thank you, Christian, for all the support you’ve given me this year. It’s been amazing to see what you’ve built at Red Bull, and thank you for making me part of that. I’ve learned a lot and am grateful for everything."
Tsunoda has had a very difficult stint at Red Bull as he has only scored points three times and struggled to extract the maximum performance.
The Japanese driver hasn't scored a single point over the last five rounds while Max Verstappen has taken victory twice year.
