After a heavy crash in Q1, Yuki Tsunoda will have to start from the pit lane at the 2025 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. Max Verstappen's teammate
lost control of his Red Bull in Turn 5 during his first flying lap and subsequently crashed hard off the track. The Japanese driver rolled over after the hard impact, but fortunately, he was able to get out of the car and was not injured.
As a result, he failed to set a lap time, and finished in P20 in the session in
Imola.

Completely new power unit and pit lane start for Tsunoda
Because of the damage to the RB21, the team had to install a completely new power unit for the Japanese driver. Out of the components, he has now used more control electronics and energy store than the allowed limit.
After the survival cell change - the central chassis component that protects the driver in severe crashes -, the team used several components of a different specification. As a result, Tsunoda will have to start from the pit lane, the FIA reports.
On the other side of the Red Bull garage, Max Verstappen hopes to fight for the victory, after qualifying himself on the front row of the grid in Imola. The Dutchman will start from second place and will line up alongside Oscar Piastri.
