Max Verstappen notices a sort of resignation as the races progress in the 2025 World Championship. In Barcelona, he qualified behind Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. The Dutchman also knows that he can't win everything in Formula 1, as he expressed after qualifying in Barcelona to several media outlets including GPblog. "I'd really like to win a bit more, but I know that's not always possible. I've been able to win many beautiful races and championships. So perhaps that gives you a bit of resignation, who knows."
"It doesn't really matter to me. You always have to do your best and maximise yourself," Verstappen said after the session on Saturday, securing P3 for Sunday's race.
The gap to the world championship leader, Piastri, is currently
25 points, but could grow even larger tomorrow if the Australian from McLaren can capitalize on his pole position.
Feedback to Red Bull from Verstappen
Verstappen was asked if he notices that when giving feedback to his team. "I think they always clearly know my opinion about everything. But you don't have to keep cursing or shouting at people all the time. That often works counterproductively."
Regarding the his starting spot for tomorrow, the Dutchman was clear.
"If there's no grip, then that's it. You might have balance, but not enough grip, then you can't make much of it," Verstappen reacted to what was lacking during the qualifying for the
Spanish Grand Prix.
