The F1 season of 2025 still counts ten Grands Prix. Max Verstappen is currently third in the World Championship, but is closely followed by George Russell and Charles Leclerc. Although the four-time world champion is not having a dream season as was the case in previous years, he is anything but worried.
Red Bull Racing is only fourth in the Constructors' Championship. Verstappen has scored 187 of the 194 points for his team so far this season. "You also just have to accept where you're at, Yeah, we are not the quickest at the moment, but we're also not the slowest," the Dutchman said in conversation with F1.com.
"We always want to be better, and actually that was the same when we were winning. Now we're not winning that much.
"We just try to focus on understanding the car a bit better, where we can find our time, because of course next year there's new regulations, but I think there's still a lot to learn also this year," Verstappen continued.
By that, Verstappen refers to a rebuilding within his team. With Laurent Mekies as the successor to Christian Horner, a new era has begun. Nevertheless, the Dutchman's confidence in Red Bull remains.
Finally, the reigning world champion addressed his personal issues with his team's current performances. How does he cope with this? He was clear about that: "I had many years before that where I didn't have a winning car, so that's Formula 1, and you know that, so it's not a very hard thing to do [compartmentalise and deal with]."
