Max Verstappen was not happy with Charles Leclerc during the final part of FP2 at the Spanish Grand Prix as they were completing their race simulations. After setting their fastest lap times of the day on the soft tyres, both Verstappen and Leclerc were running on the mediums in FP2, carrying out their long runs.
As on the main straight, the Dutchman tried to get past Leclerc, the
Ferrari driver however also opened his DRS. That is quite unusual during a long run.
On the team radio, Verstappen reacted to Leclerc's move to his race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase: “Ha ha ha… Oh man,” expressing his thoughts. 'GP' marked it was not the 'most clever' decision.
Verstappen ended up setting the third fastest lap time in FP2 behind Oscar Piastri and George Russell, while Leclerc finished in P5 in terms of the laps they set on the soft tyres.
Alonso also not happy with Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton also did something similar in FP2, with Fernando Alonso being behind the seven-time world champion.
The
Spaniard was not also happy with the other Ferrari driver's move, and said:
"The good thing is that the weekend is very long. Even the championship is very long."This article was written in collaboration with Estéban den Toom
