Verstappen earns praise from teammate after Nurburgring win
Max Verstappen has earned praise from Chris Lulham following their victory at the Nurburgring. The 22-year-old took to social media to hail the Formula 1 champion.

Lulham, who shared photos of the pair on his Instagram after his NLS debut victory alongside Verstappen, relished the win before expressing gratitude to Verstappen, who he described as having been “flying out on track.”
“What an experience this weekend to take home a victory on our debut at the NLS, thank you @maxverstappen1 for flying out on track! 💪”
Verstappen, alongside Lulham, largely stole the spotlight on his NLS debut. The duo, driving the Ferrari 296 GT3 for the Emil Frey Racing outfit, stormed to victory on their maiden competitive run at the Nordschleife. The pair, who had qualified in third place, took the chequered flag with a lead of over 20 seconds ahead of second place.
The victory also marked the first time since 1977 that a debutant at the Green Hell clinched a race win on their maiden outing.
Verstappen earns praise from Nurburgring lap record holder
Timo Bernhard also praised Max Verstappen following his victory at the Nurburgring circuit. The 44-year-old highlighted how pleased he was with the approach of the Formula 1 champion to the Nordschleife race.
Bernhard, who currently holds the record for the fastest lap around the iconic circuit, also noted how delighted he feels when he sees drivers from other categories of racing take on the Nurburgring. The German concluded by praising Verstappen’s huge talent.
Verstappen’s triumph at the Nurburgring comes off the back of his flawless outing at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Dutch driver recorded his sixth career grand slam at the Baku Street Circuit.
